Keycaps FAQ

Frequently asked questions about MDR Dasher keycaps

Which keycap profile should I choose?

  • SPSA — Tall, spherical tops, retro aesthetic. Screen-accurate to the keyboard prop used in Severance.
  • XDA — Flat, uniform height across all rows. Modern and minimal.
  • OEM — Sculpted rows with familiar angles. The most conventional typing feel.

See the Keycaps page for detailed specifications and visuals.

Will the legends fade over time?

No. XDA and OEM keycaps use PBT plastic with dye-sublimation printing — the legends are dyed directly into the plastic and will not wear off or fade. SPSA keycaps use doubleshot ABS, where the legends are a separate piece of plastic molded into the keycap, so they will never fade either.

What material are the keycaps?

  • SPSA — Doubleshot ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene).
  • XDA / OEM — PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) with dye-sublimation printing. PBT is more durable than ABS and resists the shine and oil buildup that occurs with heavy use.

Are ISO layouts available?

Yes. MDR Dasher offers ISO add-on kits for the following layouts: UK, DE, FR, Nordic, CH, and CFR. These kits replace specific keys in the base set to match regional standards.

Can I use third-party keycaps?

Yes. Any MX-compatible keycap set works with the MDR Dasher keyboard. Check sizing for non-standard key widths (such as the bottom row and right Shift) to ensure full coverage.
